kindness?

what does kindness look like. i keep wondering this today. i am sick and i am looking for a job. both of those two things are great stressor, they fill my body with stress. things have happened today that makes me wondering if a seeming act of "kindness" is actually the most harmful thing someone can do to another. can kindness be a elevation of one's self and a disregard of the other? things i must think on a bit more...

if you felt harmed by an act, it probably wasn't done to you in kindness... it was probably brilliantly disguised 'emotional masturbation' as you wrote about... masturbation accomplished through using you - anytime you are made to feel that you should feel grateful but instead feel vaguely sick, something is not right.
I DO think that kindness can be devestating...unexpecting... uncomfortable... but not cruel, not harming.
I wonder too what a motivation would be to 'elevate one's self' and 'disregard the other' - wouldn't this be just normal functioning?
Whereas kindness is not disregarding the self, but elevating both selves... kindness strengthens and enlivens both parties... it is not a 'transfer of power'... kindness is not a force that can only be with one person at a time... it does not deplete it's original holder as it is passed to another...
but perhaps I am pontificating...
and perhaps even if I am you will hear my words in kindness.
